What the Interview Tests
The UPSC Interview (275 marks) is NOT a knowledge test — it's a personality test. The board assesses:
- Mental alertness — can you think on your feet?
- Critical assimilation — can you connect dots across subjects?
- Balance of judgment — are your views balanced or extreme?
- Social cohesion — do you have leadership and integrity?
- Intellectual depth — do you understand your own interests and background?
Key Preparation Areas
1. DAF (Detailed Application Form)
60-70% of questions come from YOUR DAF — hobbies, optional, hometown, education, work experience. Prepare 10 questions for each DAF entry.
2. Current Affairs (last 6 months)
Stay updated with Ujiyari.com daily coverage. Focus on forming OPINIONS, not just facts. For every major event, prepare: "What is your view on X?"
3. Opinion Building
The board asks questions like "Should India have a Presidential system?" or "Is social media a threat to democracy?" You need structured, balanced opinions — not sitting on the fence, but acknowledging both sides.
4. State & District Knowledge
Know your home state and district — GDP, major crops, industries, rivers, cultural specialties, development challenges, and government schemes running there.
